Life is a game...Take your best shot! Reggie Reynolds (Dempsey Pappion) is a high school student who is good in the classroom but not so good on the basketball court. But one day he meets a mysterious junkdealer (Gregory Hines), who gives him an old pair of red Chuck Taylors that turn out to be some pretty special sneakers. Reggie puts them on, and his already-considerable talents are magnified. He gets the attention of a major shoe company executive who wants Reggie to switch from the old red sneakers that he is wearing to his company's brand. But Reggie knows if he's not wearing those magical old red sneakers he is back on the sideline. Actor and dancer Gregory Hines directed this fantasy fable, in which he cast himself in a supporting role.
